Requirements

The Dark Shard storyline in theory should be useable by any Gamemaster and crew playing in a classic fantasy style campaign. Most likely though, it will probably take the Gamemaster to make some executive decisions to make them fit. The reason is I designed the Dark Shard campaign setting around a custom cross between D&D's 3.5 & 5.1 / Pathfinder 1E & 2E Rulesets. While fleshing out the Dark Shard campaign, this website will also be slowly uploading my custom Ruleset through the OGL.

For the most part however you should be able to run the Dark Shard Campaign via the Pathfinder ruleset and is my preferred rules. If in doubt about a rule, please default to Pathfinder 1E rules as there are the primary rules referenced by the campaign.

Thankfully Paizo has released most of their rules for the Pathfinder under the OGL. While I will be slowly adding OGL content to this site, my primary focus is getting my original content uploaded in a usable fashion for those who want to participate. As such, if you want to play, The Archives of Nethys has all the OGL rules for Pathfinder 1E and 2E. d20srd.org has all the OGL rules for D&D 3.5E and D&D 5E.

There is of course material that I used in my personal and will have references for in the Dark Shard that is not released under the OGL. You will need to obtain the material yourself, however a most recommended list is provided below.
