The average Imperial Citizen lives, on average, a simple life in the Empire. Most citizens live their lives in relative obscurity of the broader society around them. Most will live their entire lives barely traveling from their home village or city.
Men in the Empire, with the exception of Dwarves, are generally clean shaven with hair rarely going longer than the shoulders. Commoners commonly wear a white linen shirt with trousers and leather boots with woolen socks. Laborers will generally wear a woolen tunic embossed with their employer's crest over their clothes to protect them. White collar workers will wear a button-up vest dyed to the colors of their employer.
Women wear their hair long and depending on their social status may style it up with ties, binds, or braids to keep it out of the way for physical labor. Commoners generally wear a simple dress with an apron and, if not working in the fields, a simple amount of jewelry. It is still uncommon for women who are not in the Adventurer's Guild to be seen wearing men's clothing but as tensions continue to increase with the Dynasty of Edo women have started to adopt some traditionally male clothes as they have begun to enter some laborer's roles.
In winter or inclement weather, hooded cloaks are popular in rural regions and and men in urban areas favor buttoned coats. Almost all commoner's clothing is kept serviceable with constant patchwork and repairs and their wear can been seen. But most own one good outfit for religious events or holidays.
Commoners work is long and arduous, often lasting from just after sun up to sunset and 6 days a week.
